Five Fun, Local Summer Adventures for Families

 

1. International Fountain - Keep everyone cool at one of Seattle's many sprayparks or fountains, like the International Fountain at Seattle Center!

2. Gnome Trail - Take a magical Gnome hike at the Gnome Trail in Maple Valley! The flat 0.6 mile trail is dotted with hundreds of gnome statues along the path.

3. Jetty Island - Explore Jetty Island in Everett! Take the Jetty Island passenger ferry to the two-mile-long beach that also offers free daily programs like nature walks and tide talks.

4. Northwest Railway Museum - Head east to the Northwest Railway Museum in quaint downtown Snoqualmie! The museum is free and open 7 days of the week, offering a scenic train excursion on weekends and holidays.

5. Sammamish Animal Sanctuary - Visit a farm that hosts many different rescue animals! Current residents of the Sanctuary are alpacas, goats, mini horses, and more. They even provide treat buckets for visitors to feed the animals. Reservations are recommended, which can be made on their website.
