This project started as a basement dig-down remodel, but as the design process progressed it became apparent that the amount of disruption and cost was more than the clients wanted to commit to. They looked into moving, but decided they didn’t want to leave Wallingford. So our clients asked us to design a second floor remodel in the existing footprint that makes room for two small kids’ bedrooms, a primary bedroom with an at-home office space, and a bath with a soaker tub. And to make the home even more functional, we tucked a small mudroom and powder room into unused space on the main floor.
